I grew up the son of a Lutheran pastor in northeastern Nebraska. I am married to Debbie, the love of my life, and we are the proud parents of three great kids. After an executive career in health care management, I heard God calling me to do a new thing. I am currently one year into my three year journey toward ordination as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) through the TEEM (Theological Education for Emerging Ministries). These are postcards from the road I’m now traveling – notes about the things God is teaching me and the lessons I am learning. They are meant to inspire discussion, so I invite your participation and encourge you to accompany me in my travels.

Lowell, It’s good that you are “full-time” now in the ministry. I realize that you have been witnessing all your life, but now it’s official. I, too, have changed careers and am on Development staff at Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries after 31 years in the insurance/financial business. As you go on your way, Christ will be with you!
All the best, Lon

So, the pull of the collar finally got you!
Blessings to you on your new endeavor, and say hi to Debbie for me!
